LAHORE, Nov 26: Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik will travel to Australia before next month’s one-day series against England to undergo biomechanic tests on his bowling action.

Malik will go to Perth on Dec 8 and could be available for the first one-day match on Dec 10.

“He will be there for 24 hours and flies back the next day. If he is not suffering from jet lag or exhaustion he can play in the first one-dayer,” chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar Khan said.

Malik, 23, was reported for a suspected illegal action after the first test against England earlier this month.

He was also reported in October last year before a new process governing illegal actions was brought in but was cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) following remedial work.

Pace bowler Shabbir Ahmed was also reported after the first test in Multan in which he took five wickets.

It was the second time Shabbir had been reported for an illegal action under the current process and, if found guilty, he could be suspended from bowling in international cricket for 12 months.—Agencies
