HYDERABAD, Nov 26: The People’s Party Parliamentarians announced on Saturday that the founding day of the party would be celebrated in a simple manner due to the tragedy of earthquake.

Speaking at a news conference, MPA Zahid Bhurgari recalled services of the founder of the party, Z. A. Bhutto (late).

He said that the PPP had framed the constitution of the country and strengthened democracy. The MPA said the party had organized the first conference of the Muslim countries.

Mr Bhurgari said that no elected representative had been associated with the relief work and all the work had been given to army officers.

The MPA said a conference of the senior party leaders would be held in London on Sunday (today) to chalk out a strategy for the return of the party chairperson, Benazir Bhutto, to Pakistan.

He said another meeting would be held at the Ali Palace on November 30 which would be addressed by the senior party leaders from all the four provinces.

Mr Bhurgari said the party would continue its struggle to restore democracy in the country. Amanullah Siyal and Aftab Khanzado were present on the occasion.

PROTEST: Relatives of a seven-year-old deceased boy, Umer Chandio, and SNP activists staged a protest demonstration against his murder in Kotri after kidnapping him.

The father of the boy, Akbar Chandio, said that his son was kidnapped one month ago and the kidnappers had demanded Rs50,000 for his release.
