SUKKUR: The Sindh High Court, Sukkur bench, has ordered the police and Rangers to produce two missing persons, Ayaz Ali Shar and Sajjad Ali Mangnejo, on the next hearing fixed for Feb 9.

Ayaz Shar was allegedly picked up by police about two months ago in Khairpur and Sajjad Mangnejo about one and a half month ago in Sukkur, according to their petitioners.

The bench had in the previous hearing clubbed together the petitions filed by their family members and asked for reply from the law enforcement agencies.

Rangers law officer submitted the reply on Saturday which the bench, comprising Justice Faisal Kamal Alam and Justice Amjad Ali Saheto, found dissatisfactory.

It ordered the assistant attorney general to ensure production of the missing persons on Jan 9 failing which the Rangers station commander and SSPs concerned would be summoned to appear before the bench.

If both the missing persons are not produced on the date, the bench will allow the petitioners to register cases against the law enforcement agencies’ officers concerned, according to the order.
