GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon has approved a summary of the regional government for increasing the upper age limit for its jobs from 35 years to 40 years.

According to a news release issued by the GB information department on Thursday, the governor said youth in the region struggled to secure jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic and therefore, the 35 years age limit for government employment had been extended by five years in consultation with the government.

He said the initiative would provide employment opportunities in the public sector to many jobless youth.
