KARACHI: Top four seeds propelled into last-16 round of men’s singles as the Sindh Satellite Squash Championships commenced here at the Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Wednesday.

Men’s top seed Naveed Rehman carved out straight 11-1, 11-6, 11-2 victory over unseeded Mohammad Hikmat in 18 minutes. Similarly, second seed Saeed Abdul sent unseeded Ali Daud packing 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 in 16 minutes.

Third seed Faizan Khan defeated Chaudhry Nasir 11-3, 11-4, 11-7 while fourth seed Ashab Irfan outclassed Fawad Hussain 11-5, 11-5, 11-5.

Two lower seeded players – seventh seed Mian Abdul Mughni and eighth seed Ibrahim Noorani – crashed out in the first round losing to Uzair Shoukat and Anas Khan, respectively.

Meanwhile, the organisers were compelled to revise the women’s draw giving bye to top four namely Zaynab Khan, Noor-ul-Huda, Rooshna Mehboob and Anum Mustafa after their opponents failed to show up.
