ISLAMABAD: A suspect was arrested on Sunday on the charge of killing a young man during a clash between two groups.

According to a police spokesman, a fight broke out at the multi-purpose ground located in G-11 on Jan 13. Upon being informed about it, a police team rushed to the scene and found out that a student, identified as Ayan Khan, had received bullet injuries. He passed away after being shifted to the hospital.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Tasawar Iqbal constituted a police team under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rana Hussain Tahir and comprising Station House Officer (SHO) Akhtar Zaman, In-charge Investigation Asif Khan and Constable Mohammad Ramzan.

Using modern investigation methods, the team traced the suspect and arrested him and also recovered the weapon used in the crime.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Ahsan Younus has lauded the efforts of the police team.
