MUZAFFARGARH: Two friends attempted suicide at Taunsa Barrage in the Indus river.

Sources said two friends came to the barrage to commit suicide. Rescue 1122 control room received a call from Assistant Sub-Inspector Imtiaz reporting on the incident.

One of the friends jumped into the river while the other tried to jump and was caught by policemen who were there on duty.

The youth who had jumped into the river drowned.

He was identified as 22-year-old Tariq, son of Talib, a resident of Kot Addu.

The rescuers launched an operation to find the body. They were unsuccessful in their operation till the time when this story was filed.
