LAHORE, Nov 24: Both league matches of Punjab Inter-district football championship ended in a draw at the Punjab Stadium on Thursday. Bahawalpur staged a comeback to draw against hosts Lahore 1-1.

Zahid Niaz gave Lahore an early lead when he scored a field goal in the 15th minute.

Half time score was 1-0.

The visitors came back in the second half with a new strategy and their efforts bore fruits soon as they equalised score 1-1 when Muhammad Ali banged home in the 52nd minute with a long-range rasping drive on left corner.

In the remaining play, Bahawalpur managed to keep Lahore at bay and eventually earned the draw which was a great success for them.

In the second match, Sargodha and hot favourite for the title Faisalabad delighted the crowed with their attacking game in a goalless draw.

Both the teams launched onslaughts but their finishing was not at par as they failed to score at all.

Bahawlapur will play Faisalabad on Friday.
