SUKKUR, Nov 24: The chairman of the Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party, Dr Qadir Magsi, has said that his party is ready to work under the PPP leadership if it joins the alliance of nationalist parties. He was talking to journalists at the press club here on Thursday.

Referring to a statement of Mumtaz Bhutto in which he had said that Pir Pagaro should be offered chairmanship of the alliance of nationalist parties, he said that it was Mr Mumtaz’s personal view.

Dr Magsi alleged that an ‘agent of Islamabad’ had been appointed the chief minister of Sindh who only followed the orders from the capital.

He said the rural Sindh was being ruled by landlords while the MQM was enjoying all powers in urban Sindh.

The STPP chairman said that people were reluctant to take part in politics due to indifferent attitude of the political parties.

He called upon the political parties to struggle to release the nation from the clutches of rulers.

He said that all five languages of the country should be given the status of national language.

STPP leaders Hoat Khan Gadhi and Jam Fatah Samejo were present on the occasion.

Our Hyderabad Bureau adds: A spokesman for the Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party, Mr Nandlal Malhi, has condemned the attack on members of the Hindu community by armed men in which a worshipper was killed.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said the government had totally failed in protecting the life and property of people.

He said that mosques, Imam Bargahs, temples and other worship places were not safe from terrorists.

The STPP spokesman said the Sindhi Hindus were being targeted under a planned conspiracy.

He demanded that the government should resign if it could not enforce law and protect the life and property of innocent people.
