RAWALPINDI: Divisional Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah on Sunday said all resources have been mobilised to start work on the Leh Expressway and Flood Channel project.
In a statement, he said the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) had approved the project aimed at resolving traffic and flood-related issues. He said land acquisition for the project would cost Rs24 billion.
The project would constitute an integral part of the transportation network of Rawalpindi city besides flood mitigation and sewage disposal.
He said the project will be completed under public-private partnership. The PC-I has been cleared by the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), the Planning Commission and the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and Ecnec. The commissioner said now the mega project will go ahead through the tender stage.
