RAWALPINDI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has imposed a ban on serving meals/snacks during domestic flights due to an increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
According to a notification issued by the CAA on Saturday, the restriction on serving meals/snacks will be effective from January 17.
“There will be a ban on serving meals/snacks aboard domestic flights. This restriction is being imposed in the light of the prevailing Covid-19 situation.”
The aim to impose the ban was to protect crew and travelers from the new Omicron variant, it added.
A PIA spokesman said the national flag carrier was already strictly following the Covid-19 SOPs and would also implement the new restriction.
