LARKANA: A 10-year-old boy was tortured, criminally assaulted and killed by unknown suspects within the limits of the Nasirabad police station.

The police said that some children playing cricket in the playground of the Govt Degree College, Nasirbad, on Friday spotted the body dumped in the nearby nursery. Upon getting the information, the police collected and took it to the Nasirabad Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The boy’s maternal uncle, Aslam Soomro, recognised the victim as his nephew, Nadeem Ahmed, who had gone missing a day earlier after leaving home, located in Syed Mohalla. He said the boy’s father, Ali Hassan, was a labourer and lived in Saudi Arabia.

The post-mortem report confirmed criminal assault and marks of torture on the throat and chest of the victim.

An investigation from different angles was under way but FIR of the incident was yet to be registered, the police said.
