5 policemen held for negligence

RAWALPINDI, Nov 23: Five police officials posted at Murree police station were arrested after one of the accused in a murder and kidnapping case slipped away from the police lockup on Wednesday. When contacted, DPO Rawalpindi Saud Aziz confirmed the incident and said the five policemen had been booked on charges of negligence.

He said police parties had been sent to different cities to capture the escapee, identified as Bakhtur Rehman.

The incident occurred when the police lockup was opened for cleaning and the accused persons were brought out.

30kg CHARAS SEIZED: Police seized 30kg charas and arrested two persons in Pirwadhai on Wednesday.

A senior police official said on a tip-off a police party was formed to intercept the accused. The police party spotted two persons acting suspiciously at the bus stand and took them into custody.
