Sindh's single-day coronavirus tally crossed the 1,000 mark for the first time since August, with the province reporting 1,347 infections over the past 24 hours.

According to the daily situation report issued by the Chief Minister's Office, the province's infection tally now stands at 488,637. The report said the one-day tally was also the highest number of infections recorded in the province since August 11.

However, a Dawn.com tally shows that the number is the highest recorded since August 26, when the province had registered 1,467 infections.

The report added that the province reported nine coronavirus-related fatalities in the last 24 hours, following which the death toll rose to 7,691.
