SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 22: Nasir Qureshi, a Pakistani national has been in a Houston detention facility for a year and a half with no pending criminal charges against him but no prospect for release, the Houston Chronicle reported on Tuesday.
“The government has just forgotten about us,” Mr Qureshi, 31, said of himself and seven others who he said are being held here without hope of getting out.
Qureshi, who committed an armed robbery here when he was 18, is believed to be among more than 1,000 immigrants who have been ordered deported but are still being held by the federal government.
