Alleged bandit arrested near Rohri

SUKKUR, Nov 22: An alleged bandit was arrested when he and his gang were looting passenger vehicles on the link road in Wada Patni near Rohri on Tuesday morning.

The armed men closed the railway crossing gate and made the gate-man hostage and looted many passenger vehicles.

They snatched a motorcycle from Sahib Dino Jagirani and were fleeing in a captured van when their vehicle dashed into the wall of the railway crossing gate.

As a result, alleged dacoit Qasim Shah was injured who was arrested by the police while his accomplices fled along with the motorcycle.

The injured dacoit has been admitted to the Rohri taluka hospital.

JAIL BLAST: Following the registration of a case at the Rohri police station about bomb blast at the wall of central jail-I Sukkur, the district police has started inquiry and recorded statements of 30 jail officials.

Informed sources said that their statements before the TPO Investigation Rohri, the jail officials, who were on duty at the time of the blast, said that, the situation in and outside the jail before the blast was normal and no suspect had been seen outside the boundary wall of the jail at that time.

Earlier, the TPO visited central jail-I Sukkur and recorded the statements of superintendent jail, deputy superintendent jail and other officials and sent the same to the DPO Sukkur and other high officials.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General Prison, Sindh, Ayaz Mughni visited the jails of Shikarpur and Khairpur, and reviewed the security arrangements.

The DIG Prison Major Ghulam Hussain Khoso and other high officials accompanied him.

On the occasion, he directed to adopt strict security measures in all the jails to avert any untoward incident in future.

HIJACKED: A tractor and a motorcycle was snatched by armed men in separate incidents in Daharki police station jurisdiction on Tuesday.

One Shaban on a tractor was on way to village when a group of armed dacoits intercepted at gunpoint snatched the tractor and fled.

In other incident, a motorcyclist Abdul Rehman Shar was on way to Daharki when three armed men at gunpoint snatched his motorcycle near Katta Chachar village and fled. No case was registered.
