PESHAWAR: The Working Committee of the National Awami Party (Wali group) here yesterday [Dec 25] approved the party’s participation in the Central Cabinet formed by President Z.A. Bhutto. The committee meeting … gave its verdict that Arbab Sikandar Khan, President of Sarhad Provincial NAP, and Mr Khair Bakhsh Marri, a leader from Baluchistan, be allowed to join the Central Cabinet.

The motion was moved by Khan Abdul Wali Khan who made it clear that his party … was joining the Government because it had been elected by the people through a democratic process. — News agencies

[Meanwhile, as reported by agencies from Rawalpindi,] The Government of Pakistan have announced the names of the personnel of the judicial enquiry commission, set up by the Pre­s­i­dent to enquire into the circumstances in which the Commander, Eastern Command surrende­red and the members of the Armed Forces of Pa­k­istan under his command laid down their arms and a cease-fire was ordered along the bord­ers of West Pakistan and India and along the cease-fire line in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Headed by … Justice Hamoodur Rahman, the Commission consists of every person in the service of Pakistan to render such assistance to the Commission in the performance of its functions as may be required of him.
