Tree plantation

Published November 26, 2021

DADU, with a population of around 1.5 million people, is facing a negative impact of climate change as the forests have vanished over the years due to incessant cutting of trees and encroachment by influential people.

Against such a background, it is heartening that the students of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed (MBBS) Campus of Sindh University, have launched a tree plantation drive under the supervision of pro-vice-chancellor Prof Dr Syed Azhar Ali Shah even though the drive has not received any funding or support from the government.

The students and faculty members of various departments have so far planted 5,000 trees spread over 50 acres around the campus. The plantation drive will surely improve the environment.
