DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five members of a family, including two women and two minor girls, were killed and as many injured in a road accident in Tank on Saturday.

An official of Rescue 1122 said that a taxi cab crashed onto a roadside tree near Kot Kat Adda on the Tank-Bannu Road. As a result, five members of the same family were killed, and five others, including the driver, were seriously injured.

Police and Rescue 1122 personnel reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident and provided first aid to the injured on the spot.

Later, they shifted the dead and the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tank.

According to the police, the family was going to Bannu after attending a wedding in Wana, South Waziristan.

The deceased included Mushahid Khan, his wife Dilnar Bibi, 52, Ajwa Bibi, 6, Asma Bibi, 9, and Safia Bibi, 37.

The Tank police registered a case and started investigation.
