CHITRAL: Lower Chitral became the second district in the province where institution and copying branch of district judiciary was connected to information management system (IMS) giving an easy and ready access to the litigants.

In a function held here on Thursday on the premises of district kutcheri, the opening ceremony was performed by district and sessions judge Phool Bibi, additional sessions judge Qasim Khan, senior civil judge (admn) Ghulam Hamid and senior civil judge (judicial) Asif Kamal.

They said that with the provision of the facility the process of institution of new cases and obtaining copy of the court verdicts and other related documents had been simplified and general public and the litigants would avail of it under one roof.

They said that of the 56,000 verdicts of cases in the district judiciary since 1983, over 44,000 had been put online while the rest would be included during next few months.

They said that Lower Chitral was the second district after Peshawar which got this facility.

District bar association president Niaz A Niazi advocate appreciated the district judiciary for this accomplishment and said it would bring a great relief to the litigants.
