LAHORE: The Punjab government has deleted the name of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi from the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 with immediate effect.

The Punjab home department has notified removal of Mr Rizvi’s name after his party TLP’s name was removed from the First Schedule as a proscribed organisation.

The decisions of removing TLP’s name from Fourth Schedule and its chief Mr Rizvi’s name from the First Schedule have been taken after an agreement between the government and the TLP, the contents of which are still being kept secret.

Mr Rizvi’s is still in jail as he can only be released by the Federal Review Board (FRB), which is yet to give date to hear the Punjab government case about his detention.
