KARACHI: City nazim slams blast

Published November 16, 2005

KARACHI, Nov 15: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal condemning the blast said its objective was not only to cause damage to the very image of city but to the entire country. Soon after receipt of blast reports, the nazim visited the scene of occurrence and later visited the injured at Civil and Jinnah hospitals.

He announced that the city government would look after the medical needs of the injured. He appealed to citizens to keep their spirits high and assured them that the government would firmly deal with anti-state elements.

Maintaining that Karachi is the hub of economic activities and contributes 65 per cent revenue to national exchequer, he said the blast was an attempt to stall all such activities. He declared that terrorists would not succeed in their nefarious objectives and development activities would continue. —APP
