RAWALPINDI: The newly posted Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ashfaq Ahmed Khan and City Police Officer Athar Islmail on Monday assumed their offices with a pledge to further improve the Rawalpindi police.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ashfaq Ahmad Khan visited Police Lines Headquarters, where he was welcomed by senior police officers.

The RPO expressed hope that City Police Officer Athar Ismail will play his role in further improving the Rawalpindi police’s performance.

Ashfaq Ahmad Khan visited the memorial of martyrs, laid a flowers wreath and prayed for them.

The Rawalpindi RPO visited Martyrs Gallery, the firing range, police mess, library, model barracks, control room, Irshad Hussain Shaheed Auditorium and Command and Control Room at the Police Lines headquarters.

The CPO briefed the RPO and Rawalpindi on various projects. The RPO Ashfaq Ahmad Khan said that the facilities provided for the welfare of the force at Rawalpindi Police Lines are excellent.

On the other hand, the newly posted CPO Athar Ismail assumed the charge of his office with a pledge to show zero tolerance to Qabza mafia, drugs and gamblers.
