Performance of 70 teachers criticized

BADIN, Nov 14: Around 70 primary school teachers are not doing thier job properly in the district and some of them are doing second jobs at other places. This was stated at a meeting of the district education board held at the DCO’s office here on Monday.

A representative of the NCHD said rise in dropout cases could not be ruled out in the wake of shortage of teaching staff and lack of furniture and other facilities. He said school management committees should provide funds for development of schools supported by the NCHD otherwise the schools would be affected.

Members of the education board demanded that opening of branch schools should be stopped because these schools were being opened on political basis and could affect main schools.

The meeting expressed concern over reports of political interference in transfers and postings of teachers. It observed that due to favouritism, some schools were without sufficient number of teachers while others were having teachers more than their requirement.
