Balochistan CM announces Rs0.5m for each victim of Harnai quake

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo on Tuesday announced Rs500,000 compensation for each person who died in the Oct 7 Harnai earthquake.

The chief minister also announced Rs200,000 compensation for each person injured in the calamity.

Over 300 people were injured and hundreds of houses partially or completely damaged in the earthquake.

A summary was presented to the chief minister on Tuesday after his visit to Islamabad, which he signed as his first official work.

The chief minister has convened a meeting on the Harnai earthquake on Wednesday in which important decisions would be taken regarding rebuilding of destro­yed houses and rehabilitation of the earthquake victims.
