ISLAMABAD, Nov 14: The examination for all programmes of the Allama Iqbal Open University for spring semester 2005 started from Monday. Roll number slips have already been dispatched to all the eligible students by post at their addresses, said AIOU Controller Examination Mr Hafeezullah.

He also announced that the university had postponed the examination in the areas badly hit by the earthquake. Such areas include Muzaffarabad district, Hattian Bala district, Leepa Valley, Authmaqam, Bagh district, Forward Kahota, Dhirkot, Rawalakot, Hajira, Abbaspur, Mansehra district, Balakot City, Battagram City and Kohistan.

The controller said students and their parents in these areas could not be perturbed at the moment. However, when the situation improves and life returns to normalcy, a special examination would be arranged or the students from these areas would be given a special chance to appear in next semester examination i.e. Autumn, 2005, he added.

The students belonging to other parts of the country who have not received their roll number slips so far have been advised to contact the nearest regional office or AIOU Superintendent Exams Mohammad Shabbir Shahid.

They can also download the copy of roll number slip and the time-table from the AIOU websites www.aiou.edu.pk and aiou.edu.pk, which would be valid for presentation at the examination centres.
