ISLAMABAD: While Islamabad and Rawalpindi district saw a decline in the Covid-19 positivity ratio, one person died of the disease whereas 35 people contracted it on Wednesday.

Positivity ratio was 0.6pc in both areas.

Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 4,076 tests were conducted in the capital and out of the total 28 tested positive. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Khalid, 71, resident of Harley Street. He was brought to Quaid-i-Azam International Hospital on Oct 26.

Besides, 45 patients also recovered, they added.

Assistant Commissioner Secretariat Aneel Saeed conducted inspection of Bari Imam. A shop and a restaurant were sealed for serving food through unvaccinated staff, while other violators have also been fined and warned as per law.

Meanwhile, 16 patients were discharged after recovering during the past 24 hours.

A total of 1,151 samples were collected in the last 24 hours out of which 1,144 were negative.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 152 active patients. As many as 22 are in hospitals including nine who arrived from other districts and 130 patients are home isolated. Four patients arrived from cantonment areas, two from Potohar Town and one patient came from Gujrat.

As many as 22 patients are admitted in city hospitals including six in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 12 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) and four patients in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH). There is one patient on a ventilator in Rawalpindi, 10 are on oxygen support and 11 are stable.
