LAHORE Saqib Khan Khakwani struck four times to help Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel reach the final of the Gobi’s Paints Polo Cup after beating Rijas Development/Master Paints 8-4 in their last round match at the Jinnah Polo Club here on Friday.

Aleem Yar Tiwana scored a brace while Mir Shoaib Ahmad and Usman Aziz Anwar chipped in with a goal each for winners as Faisal Shahzad’s hat-trick and a goal by Sufi Muhammad Haroon for Rijas Development/Master Paints went in vain.

In Sunday’s main final, Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel will face FC Polo Team, who earned a narrow 6-5 win over Diamond Paints. Despite the loss, Diamond Paints advanced to the subsidiary final against 4 Corps.

Shahzad Ahmed scored a hat-trick while Zia-ur-Rehman got another for FC Polo, who had a two-goal handicap. Raja Jalal Arsalan got a treble for Diamond Paints while Mir Huzaifa Ahmed scored their other goal.
