CHAGAI: Leaders of component parties of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and other parties held protest rallies in Dalbandin and Nushki on Wednesday against increase in prices of food items and other essential commodities.

Besides BNP-M, workers of National Party (NP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also participated in the protest rallies.

Mir Mohammad Hashim Notezai, the Member of National Assembly (MNA) from Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), led the demonstration in Dalbandin.

The demonstrators chanted slogans against the provincial and federal governments.

The role of the district administration was also criticised for its failure to control prices of essential commodities which have seen a record increase in Chagai.

A similar protest was held in Nushki.
