KARACHI: A young man was found murdered in the outskirts of the metropolis, police said on Saturday.

The Shah Latif Town police said that the body of Majid Ali, 19, was found with a slit throat from a house in Dawood Shora Goth off National Highway late on Friday night.

The corpse was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfil medico-legal formalities.

Area SHO Mumtaz Marwat said that the man was killed allegedly by his cousin, Bilal.

The police arrested the suspect, who ‘confessed’ to have killed him in the name of so-called honour.

He said that during initial probe, the suspect told the police that he murdered him because he had illicit relations with his wife.

The police were investigating the case.

280kg hashish seized in city

Police on Saturday claimed to have seized a huge quantity of hashish on Superhighway and arrested two suspected drug peddlers.

According to East SSP Qamar Raz, acting on a tip-off, the Sachal police intercepted a car near Jamali Pul on Superhighway, recovered 280 kilogrammes of hashish and arrested Mohammed Irfan and Naseebullah.

The contraband was being brought from Pishin to Karachi, apparently for further supply to different areas in the city.
