LAHORE: In an unprecedented development, 117 candidates of boards of intermediate and secondary education of Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan obtained full marks (1,100) in the result of the Higher Secondary School Certificate, part-II, announced on Thursday.

Fifty-two candidates of the Lahore BISE have secured full marks in the result. Most of them are girls.

The pass percentage in Lahore remained 98.71. The annual examination was held under Examination Policy Covid-19. Under the policy, the candidates had to appear in the elective subjects only. The average marks obtained in elective subjects were reflected in compulsory subjects with five per cent additional marks. All those who failed in any subject were granted 33pc marks.

As many as 185,725 students appeared in the examination and 183,324 were declared successful with the percentage remained 98.71.

As many as 23,737 students received A+ grade, including 15,589 in pre-medical, 4,505 in pre-engineering, 2,999 in general science, 422 in commerce and 5,403 in humanities. As many as 29,601 got A grade, 29,601 B grade, 35,067 C, 39,219 D and 24,347 E in the annual examination.

However, under the policy, 24,347 students were declared successful under the grace marks while 2,401 were declared unsuccessful for not appearing in the exam.

In Multan, the pass percentage remained 98.64. Forty-eight students scored 100pc marks.

In Bahawalpur, 12 students, all from science group, obtained 100pc marks. In DG Khan, five students obtained full marks.
