KARACHI: The Central Government is shortly implementing a new scheme for the management and disposal of evacuee trust properties worth over Rs. 100 crores scattered all over West Pakistan. The scheme aims at streamlining the organisational and administrative structure related to the management and disposal of huge chunks of agriculture and urban properties both in Sind, Baluchistan, Punjab and North-West Frontier Provinces of West Pakistan.

The scheme is to be implemented under the overall guidance and supervision of the Evacuee Property Trust Board which has been set up at Lahore.

[Meanwhile, as reported by a staff correspondent from Multan,] Mr Bhutto ... declared here today [Oct 8] that his party would continue to struggle for the establishment of a people’s government in Pakistan. ... He said the establishment of a people’s government was vital as it guaranteed the ending of all the ills faced by the country and nation today. … Mr Bhutto said power must immediately be transferred to the representatives of the people in case there was an imminent danger of war with India. Mr Bhutto hoped that the schedule announced for by-elections would be adhered to strictly....
