Chandios resolve differences

LARKANA, Nov 10: Nawab Shabbir Ahmad Chandio, chief of the Chandio tribe, and his nephews – Malik Gaibi Khan Chandio and his brother, Shahnawaz Chandio – have resolved their differences.

Malik Gaibi and Shahnawaz met their uncle at his residence in Qambar on Wednesday.

The differences between them had created tension in the area where Shabbir Ahmad had joined the Pakistan Muslim League and his nephews were in the People’s Party Parliamen-tarians. They had contested against each other the recent local body polls in the Qambar-Shahdadkot district.

Qambar Taluka Nazim Sardar Khan Chandio, son of Shabbir Ahmad, and his cousins had been trading charges against each other over different issues.

Witnessing the widening gulf between them, heads of different sub-tribes of Chandio started efforts to resolve their differences.

On Tuesday, Raees Tharo Chandio, head of the Marfani tribe, and his brother, Manzoor Chandio, Warah taluka nazim, arranged a meeting of Sardar Khan Chandio with Gaibi Khan Chandio and Shahnawaz Chan-dio in Warah. On Wednesday, the two brothers called on Shabbir Ahmad and resolved their differences.

Sources said it was agreed at the meeting that they would join political parties of their choice.

ATTACKED: Two people on Wednesday attacked and injured Niaz Abro, president of the Ratodero Press Club.
