KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead by a citizen off Sharea Faisal early on Monday, according to police.

They added that three armed robbers entered a house in the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board’s housing colony near Karsaz with the intention of committing robbery.

In the meantime, a house inmate opened fire on them.

In an exchange of firing, a suspected robber, later identified as Yaqoob, was killed. A police officer said the suspect was killed in firing carried out by his accomplices.

A resident, Kamal Shah, 37, also suffered bullet injuries while two other dacoits fled. The dead and injured were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

The police claimed to have recovered one TT pistol from the possession of Yaqoob.
