181 cases of dengue, 574 of Covid in Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab reported 181 positive cases of dengue and 574 of Covid during the last 24 hours, taking the total numbers of both types of cases to 1,840 and 431,667, respectively.

Of the new dengue cases, 131 were reported in Lahore alone, according to the data released by the provincial health department here on Friday.

Similarly, of 574 new cases of Covid, a majority, 303, were reported in Lahore, 47 in Multan, 35 in Rawalpindi, 26 in Faisalabad, 18 in Sargodha, 16 in Pakpattan and 15 cases in Bahawalpur.

The data showed Covid claimed lives of 20 people during the last 24 hours in Punjab, taking the death toll to 12,634.

Meanwhile, the positivity rate of the coronavirus has dropped to 3 percent in Punjab.

In the provincial capital it was 5.8pc, Rawalpindi 2.8pc, Faisalabad 4.2pc, Multan 4.1pc and in Gujranwala the rate was 2.5pc.
