LAHORE: A taxi driver, who was allegedly kidnapped on Sept 25 from Lorry Adda, was found murdered in Green Town on Thursday.

The police recovered his body from an open drain with his arms and legs tied with a rope and tape on his mouth.

Sohail, 45, had been running an online taxi for the last one and half years.

A police official said Sohail picked up two persons from Lorry Adda on Sept 25 to drop them on the given location. He said taxi owner Asim Zafar alerted the police when he found the driver “missing” for a couple of days.

The official said the police later traced the car through the tracking system on Sept 28 that was parked abandoned near the Minhaj Ground in Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Area police precincts. The number plate of the car had been removed and the driver was missing. He said the body of the driver was recovered from an open drain and was shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.
