TOBA TEK SINGH: Officials of the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital on Tuesday caught four members of a women’s gang involved in theft of cash, mobile phone sets and other valuables of patients, their attendants and doctors.

An official said the incidents of theft had been on the rise in the hospital for the last more than one year and it was suspected that some low-grade employees might be involved in the crime. The hospital’s CCTV monitoring team watched footages of thefts and found that a gang of women visited the hospital in the guise of attendants and stole cash and valuables from the wards, private rooms and offices of medical officers.

The four women came to hospital on Tuesday and the CCTV staff followed them and caught them stealing cash and valuables. The officials later handed over them to police.
