HYDERABAD: A senior activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Navaid Abbasi, was allegedly kidnapped by a group of unknown men, who also manhandled him, while he was on his way to office on Monday.

According to the party’s district chapter, Mr Abbasi was kidnapped paces away from his residence near Wapda Colony after he left for his office. Organiser of the district chapter Zafar Siddiqui said Mr Abbasi’s whereabouts remained unknown till late in the evening.

In their joint statement, MQM-P Hyderabad district committee office-bearers condemned the kidnapping and manhandling of Mr Abbasi, the senior joint in-charge of the party’s district chapter.
