RAWALPINDI: A man was shot at and injured by security personnel at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) on Monday after he tried to enter a prohibited area for motorbikes and ignoring their warnings.

Later, he was apprehended by Airport Security Force (ASF) and an FIR was registered against him with the Naseerabad police.

The complainant said in the FIR that the accused did not stop despite being warned by the security officials that he was violating one-way and entering a prohibited area for motorbikes.

Police said no weapon was recovered from the accused. The injured was shifted to hospital amid security.

Police have launched investigation into the incident after registration of FIR.

Meanwhile, a man was gunned down by unidentified persons in the Saddar Bairooni police area on Sunday night, police said.

Haider Ali, 17, a van driver left his house to earn his livelihood on Sunday morning but didn’t return even after the sunset.

Ghulam Abbas, father of the victim said in the FIR that he received an information that his son’s body was lying near a grid station.

He said after receiving the call, he along with his cousins rushed to the spot and found his son’s body lying outside a shop with bullet wounds in his chest.

He said later the body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

Police said the motive behind the murder was yet to be known.
