ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said a plan was in the final stage to tap iron reserves in Chiniot and Kalabagh and investment would soon be sought for the purpose.

The prime minister was speaking at a meeting to discuss development of the country’s mineral resources.

He directed the officials concerned to early finalise the mineral development programme and said that it was among one of the government’s top priorities to exploit the country’s minerals resources.

The prime minister said that the country had huge scope for investment in the mineral sector.

Federal ministers Asad Umar and Hammad Azhar and senior federal and provincial officers of the mineral sector attended the meeting.
