TAXILA: Member National Assembly retired Major Tahir Sadiq on Saturday said an amount of Rs11.74 billion would be spent on 1,174 different development schemes in Attock this fiscal year.

He was presiding over a meeting of the District Coordination Committee to review various development projects at deputy commissioner’s office Attock.

Punjab Finance Minister Malik Mohammad Anwar, Punjab Assembly Member Jamshaid Altaf, PTI district president Qazi Ahmad Akbar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh were also present on the occasion.

All the officers briefed the participants about their departments. On this occasion, suggestions and instructions were given for various public issues.

These schemes included education, health, road maintenance, upgradation of educational institutions and other public and welfare schemes.

While presiding over the meeting, the minister emphasised the need for completing the development projects within the stipulated time period without compromising quality of work.

He directed the officials concerned to maintain financial discipline.

He said the present government wanted to give maximum facilities to the people and these schemes when completed would surely be beneficial for the people.

He said this government was committed to giving facilities to the people at village level to stop and discourage the trend of migration to cities.

Later Punjab Finance Minister Malik Mohammad Anwar inaugurated land record centers monitoring cell.

The establishment of this cell would help in resolving public grievances related to the revenue department.

Briefing on the occasion, DC Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh said the land record centres established across the district would be directly monitored through this cell which would help in resolving public grievances.

He said CCTVs had been installed in land record centers across the district which is connected to the cell where the activities of the land record centre staff would be monitored.

During the briefing, the members of the assembly also talked to the people present in various land record centers who expressed their complete satisfaction over the work of the land record centers.
