KARACHI, Nov 8: Eleven vessels, including a car carrier carrying 600 vehicles, are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest owing to delayed arrivals and as a result two ships, Global Progress and Ever Guard, were berthed to unload and load containers.

Four ships, Sea Beta, Paige, Le Li and Panama Express departed on Tuesday, while Maersk Alaska, Tyroburg, Shalamar, Lalazar, Yang Jiang He, Ever Guard, Ruong Gang-2 and PONL Buenos Aries, are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.146m tons comprising 10,048 tons of export cargo, including 3,318 tons of rice and 0.136m tons of import tonnage, which also included 80,000 tons of liquid one.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Y.M. Star, Eagle Express, Hyundai Future, PONL Vera Cruz, Emerald Sea, CMA CGM Karibu, with containers, Sanko Summit, with 42,852 tons of DAP fertilizer, Cosmos Ace, with 600 vehicles, Sibi, with rock phosphate, Paraskevi-2 and Imme, with general cargo.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Shintoku, with chemicals, Golden Express and Teen, with containers.
