SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A soldier was martyred and four others were wounded when a vehicle of security forces struck a landmine on Laddah road in South Waziristan tribal district on Monday.

Sources said the vehicle was part of a convoy going to Kaniguram when it was hit by the landmine planted on the Laddah bridge.

A soldier was martyred and four others were wounded by the impact of the blast. They were shifted to the Wana Scouts hospital.

Soon after the incident, security forces launched a search operation in the area to track down the culprits involved in the blast. Sources said that during the operation the security forces picked up three suspects for interrogation.
