MANSEHRA, Nov 7: Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Interior Minister Prince Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud visited on Monday the field medical hospital established by the Saudi Crescent Society in district Mansehra for people affected by the Oct 8 earthquake.

Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao accompanied the Saudi minister.

Prince Ahmed inspected various facilities and departments, including laboratories, operation theatre and medical store, being provided by the field hospital for earthquake survivors.

He enquired after the health of the injured and presented bouquets to them.

The hospital in charge, Dr Asama, while briefing the Saudi prince said that so far the hospital had treated 4,530 patients and provided them medicines.

He said that about 36 patients were operated upon in the field hospital.

He said that Pakistani doctors were also working in the field hospital along with Saudi medical personnel.

The Saudi prince asked the medical staff to perform their duties efficiently.

He said: “The Pakistanis are our brothers and we will stand by them in this hour of crisis.”

Later, the prince also took a bird’s eye view of Balakot, Shinkiari, Battal, and other areas which were badly destroyed by the Oct 8 earthquake.—APP
