LARKANA, Nov 6: A large number of women took out a procession in Shahdadkot on Sunday in protest against police for arresting three women following murder of Latif Chandio, the guard of Taluka Qambar Nazim Sardar Khan Chandio.

The guard was shot dead five days ago in the town and the police raided the houses of ASI Dili Jan Magsi and Hassan Khoso, his father-in-law and detained Shahzadi Khoso, Shama Khoso, Rani alias Rabi Magsi, wife of ASI Dili Jan Magsi.

On Sunday, protesting against the police action, a large number of women took out a procession from the Koto-Moto Chowk and demonstrated outside the taluka nazim office.

Finding the offices closed, they left bangles and dupattas there and reassembled at the Koto-Moto Chowk where they burnt the effigy of Taluka Police Officer, TPO, Shahdadkot.

Addressing the protesting women, Rani Magsi, Rubina Chandio and Zainab Chandio lashed out at the police for breaking into the houses of Khosos and Magsis and maltreating womenfolk for alleged crimes of their men.

The wife of ASI Magsi said that her husband was performing duty in Larkana at the Haidri police station when the incident had occurred.

She said the police was falsely implicating her husband in the murder case of Latif Chandio.

Demanding withdrawal of the case, they urged action against the police team that barged into the houses, arrested women and maltreated them.
