KOHAT: The Awami National Party’s local chapter has approved names of the organising committees for the three tehsils of Kohat district.

The names were approved at a meeting chaired by chief organiser for Kohat Dr Mohammad Safdar here on Monday.

The participants appointed Tahir Shinwari as organiser for the Kohat tehsil body with Bahadar Khan, Mian Kamran and Saifullah Khan its members.

Asmatullah Khan Khattak was made the organiser for Lachi tehsil with Zareef Gul, Tanveer Ahmed Abid Shah Bokhari as members of the organising committee.

Babrak Khan Khattak was elected chief of the Gumbat tehsil organisation with Tahir Orakzai, Awais Shah Khattak, Qadeem Afridi, Kamran Khattak and Raheem Khan its members.

The chief organiser said he expected of the new organising committees to work with renewed zeal and spirit to strengthen the party in the district.

VACCINATION COUNTER: The health department on Monday set up a separate counter at the Togh Bala basic health unit for Covid-19 vaccination of female visitors, thus meeting the longstanding demand of the locals.

Only female staff will deal with the women visiting the BHU for inoculation, according to a statement.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Inaam Khan, president of Togh Bala youth welfare association, in a statement, said the people had been asking for setting up a separate counter for women at the BHU as females were shy of getting vaccinated by male staff.

He said the BHU in-charge Dr Irfan had assured them that a separate counter would be set up to facilitate women.

Separately, a boy was electrocuted inside his home in Lachi tehsil here on Monday.

Nasir Ameen, 20, was repairing an electricity board when he was electrocuted in his home in Ghurzandi area.
