KARACHI: The newly-appointed administrator of the District Municipal Corporation-Central, Dr Muhammad Ali Zaidi, has promised to take all possible measures for resolving the civic and municipal problems of district central.

He also directed the officials concerned to accelerate their efforts to lift garbage, install streetlights and ensure plantation at the exit and entry points of the district. He visited the entry/exits points of the entire district and directed the municipal commissioner-central to take immediate measures for their beautification. He visited the Golimar Chowrangi bus stop, Ghareebabad, Altaf Hussain Hali Road and Teen Hatti and personally reviewed the state of cleanliness, encroachments, etc, there.

Dr Zaidi, an ex-PCS officer who previously served as assistant commissioner in various districts, issued directives to speed up lifting of garbage, expedite the ongoing anti-encroachment drive, plantation, installation of streetlights.

He had assumed office about a week ago after the Sindh government relived deputy commissioners of all districts from the additional responsibility of administrator of their respective DMCs.
