KARACHI, Nov 3: Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) is expected to receive donation in kind from two foreign sports goods firms for the survivors of Oct 8 earthquake that rocked northern parts of the country.

The PTTF has received the assurance from the donors through e-mail, president PTTF, S. M. Sibtain, said on Thursday.

He disclosed that the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) had endorsed PTTF’s appeal to table tennis sports goods manufacturers for contribution towards earthquake survivors.

Two companies one from Japan and the other from India have agreed to send track suits and warm clothing in next few days to the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), he added.

The PTTF, he said, had already donated a sum of Rs. 50,000 to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for its disbursement.

Meanwhile, the 12th National junior table tennis championship would be held at Hyderabad from Nov 23 to 26.

Two teams apiece from the four provinces, Islamabad, FATA and northern areas would feature in the competition.

Besides the team events, boys singles and doubles and girls singles and doubles would be organized.

The PTTF would be focussing on the juniors and plans to send the second tier in international competitions being held at Qatar, India and Japan in the first half of next year.
