SIALKOT, Nov 3: A robber and a passer-by sustained bullet injuries during a robbery in Hajipura locality of Daska city on Wednesday night. Five robbers reportedly stormed into the public call office (PCO) of Malik Ashfaq, held the people present there at gunpoint and snatched four mobile phones, cash and calling cards worth Rs35,000.

In the meanwhile, a customer put up resistance and the gunmen shot at and injured him and took to their heels. A security guard opened fire on the fleeing felons and injured one of them. However, he was taken away by his accomplices.

The injured man, still unidentified, was admitted to the THQ Hospital in critical condition.

COUPLE SHOT: The bodies of a youth and a girl, having bullet wounds, were found along a road near Chak Ikhtiyar, Sambrial, on Thursday.

Police said the youth was about 23 years of age, while the girl not more than 19 years. They were killed somewhere else and bodies were thrown on the road, they added.

Police suspected that they could be lovers and probably shot dead over their suspect illicit relations. — Correspondent
