ACE inspector held for graft

OKARA, Nov 3: An Anti-Corruption Establishment officer of Okara circle was arrested on Thursday in Lahore for taking bribe from a patwari. According to reports reaching here, ACE inspector Khalid Mehmood Afzal was in Lahore in the ACE’s deputy director office to consult his higher officials for the registration of cases against some corrupt officials.

Meanwhile, a Patwari, who had already filed an application against the ACE inspector for taking Rs25,000 as bribe, was also present in the office of deputy director Yar Muhammad Dogar. On the complaint of the patwari, the deputy director immediately ordered registration of a case against Okara circle’s inspector Khalid Mehmood and also got him arrested. Two other police officials — ASI Muhammad Sadiq and another were also nominated in the FIR.
